Transfers
If you are interested in transferring your membership into Carpenters Local 1669, it is important for you to know that there are criteria that must be met.
Transfer Criteria
- Must be member in of the U.B.C. for at least six months.
- Be in good standing, and paid all monthly dues owed, including the current dues for the month in which the clearance is to be issued.
- Apprentices must be registered with the Ontario College of Trades and/or the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development- Apprenticeship Branch. Ontario does not recognize out-of-province apprenticeship programs, therefore, Carpenters Local 1669 will asses the experiences of each apprentice that is wishing to transfer in from out of province.
- Journeypersons must hold a valid Certification of Qualification or Red Seal in their respective trade.
- Carpenters Local 1669 member must maintain a permanent residence and mailing address within the local’s work jurisdiction boundaries.
Carpenters Local 1669 takes pride in having our members either registered apprentices with the Ontario College of Trades or the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development- Apprenticeship Branch. Our journeypersons hold a valid Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal in their respective trade. Ontario does not recognize out-of-province apprenticeship programs, and therefore, Carpenters Local 1669 is required to asses the experience of each member that is wishing to transfer in.
Please note scaffolding is not a separately recognized trade within Ontario, Carpenters Local 1669 would require those applicants to comply with the standards and register as an apprentice in the recognized appropriate trade in Ontario.
Carpenters Local 1669 prefers that any member wishing to transfer into Carpenters Local 1669 maintain a permanent residence and mailing address within the local’s jurisdictional boundaries.
